Financially empowering Ukrainian refugees in Europe

Helping Ukrainian refugees rebuild their life in Europe through access to financial tools, emergency cash and integration programs.

Our Impact

Finansova was launched in April of 2022 to address Ukrainian refugees’ urgent need for financial support and integration in Europe.

In total we have helped over 1000 people with financial aid, over 100 with Polish language courses and career advice and over 20,000 through timely information on services for refugees in Krakow to find help from other institutions.

We are now launching sponsored technology education program for Ukrainian refugee women that have lost their jobs because of the war and are looking to reinvent themselves in the technology sector.

Our current initiative

Technology Courses for Ukrainian Women

Finansova has partnered with online technology school Beetroot Academy to offer sponsored education for Ukrainian refugee women who are ready to reinvent their careers in tech. We are offering a variety of courses to accommodate for different levels of experience and comfort with technology from UI/UX to general HR skills.

Initiative #1: Financial Inclusion

Financial inclusion is not just about having a digital bank account, it’s about knowing how to use it.

Our tutorials facilitate: account creation, payments, top ups, transfers, currency exchanges and savings using the major European digital banking apps.

With every tutorial refugees receive a 100€ donation.

We have helped over 1000 refugees receive financial support and become a part of the European banking system

Finansova emergency cash has helped families cover basic needs

Finansova participants overwhelmingly women with children coming from a variety of working class backgrounds.

They use the donation for their basic needs while they get their life back on track in Poland or waiting to get back to Ukraine.

Financial support for vulnerable groups

After we reached our goal of helping 1000 refugees access banking and receive their donation, we shifted priorities to helping the ones most in need, and provided donations to 300 more elderly and disabled refugees.

Initiative 2: Vulnerable Groups

Initiative #3: Integration into Polish life

Polish lessons and career advice

We facilitated access and sponsored refugees to take Polish lessons with the goal of helping them improve their language skills and be able to find a job. We also guided them towards viable career options by helping them write up their CVs and apply to relevant roles.

Initiative #5: Other sources of support

Resources for refugees

We compiled a list of online sources of information that provided refugees with different ways they could receive help, from housing, to schooling to food and important administrative tasks needed to receive government help in Poland. We currently still send a newsletter that provides updated information that could be relevant for refugees in Krakow.

The Varsavsky Foundation

Finansova is a Varsavsky Foundation Project

Started by Martin Varsavsky, Argentine serial entrepreneur in the year 2000, the Varsavsky Foundation solves large social problems through an entrepreneurial lens.

We are dedicated to contributing to the freedom of Ukraine and supporting Ukrainian refugees as they find new homes around the world. We connect to this fight not only from a humanitarian perspective but also because Ukraine holds a special place in our hearts—as Jewish, Argentine immigrants from Eastern Europe, more than half of our family line comes from Ukraine.
